Reclaimed Wood Earbuds Deliver Sound The Way Nature Intended

Today’s geek-on-the-go needs reliable accessories that make it easy to answer an email or edit a video no matter where they are. Although today’s phones and laptops have surprisingly robust sound systems, they aren’t always appropriate to share your audio with the rest of the world. For those quiet moments earbuds or some other kind of headphones is the perfect solution.

But just like the cars of yesterday, our modern, mobile gadgets are an extension of our personalities. There’s no need to settle for the sub-par sound quality of those plain black plastic earbuds when there are so many more creative and eco-friendly alternatives on the market. Take the latest offering from Griffin Technology, for instance. Using wood reclaimed from other manufacturing processes, the company crafted WoodTones, sustainable earbuds that offer superior sound quality.

These sleek audio accessories are nothing like the uncomfortable, unreliable earbuds you’ve received on long distance flights. Carefully crafted from left-over bits of responsibly harvested wood which would have otherwise been burned or tossed in a landfill, WoodTones are are polished to a smooth satin finish. And because woodgrain is the equivalent of a tree finger print, no two sets will ever look exactly alike. The buds also feature 8 mm neodymium magnet drivers for powerful sound, soft silicone ear cushions for added comfort, with three size options, a drawstring carrying pouch made of natural hemp fiber.

There’s no denying that one-of-a-kind earbuds are cool and the fact that they used reclaimed wood is even cooler. By using wood as the main material, the earbuds are able to accentuate vocals and bass while also improving sound volume, meaning users can listen at lower volume levels than usual while still enjoying the same caliber of sound. Which means you can still rock out to your favorite band without annoying everyone else in the bus, elevator, or laundromat…that’s a good thing.
